An experimental study of the cooling performance
of a compact TE air conditioner with a DEC system
has been performed. Under the test conditions used
here, the suitable operating condition was 4.5 A
electrical current supplied to the TE modules and
hot-side air mass flow of 0.025 kg/s. The corresponding
cooling capacity is 74.5 W with COP of
0.52 and cold air temperature of 24.4C. The technology
developed here increases the COP of the
compact TE air conditioner by about 20.9% (at 4.5 A
electric current). Finally, the possibility of using a
solar cell to drive the compact TE air conditioner
with the DEC system is an interesting topic for
further development.
