There was
negligible impact of arsenic pollution on HDI (Figs. 3a and 3b)
as arsenic concentration in groundwater of this block was low (0
to 0.15 mg/L). HDI of block Raghunathganj-2 was affected by
arsenic pollution as the areal coverage of HDI range 0.4 to 0.5
was reduced and came under the range of 0.3 to 0.4 (Figs. 4a and
4b). HDI distribution for the block Raninagar-1 varied from 0.3
to 0.6 for both actual and arsenic pollution affected HDI (Figs. 5a
and 5b), but all the ranges are affected by arsenic pollution as
