Teaching thinking: Am Enduring Concern
Education tends be a “trendy” profession, and we’ we all seen the “latest” come and go.
Concerns about whether or not the teaching of thinking might be one more example of
a brief, transitory trend have been expressed in comments such as, “It was easy to believe
that the “let” s teach thinking sprit might be a short-term fad that would soon change to
some other trendy notion (Bransford et al. 1991.p.148). However, the interest in teach-
