Buntin,Chanthachum, and Hongpattarakere (2008) reported that gastrointestinal tract of marine animals is a potential source to isolate acid and bile tolerance LAB which could be used as prospective probiotic strains. Interestingly, these strains have exhibited a significant antibiotic activity against several human pathogens.
Therefore, use of marine microorganisms as probiotics for human consumption would not be a far reality.
