3) VISA and work permit issues:
As you are aware, if a foreign employee is employed, his work permit from Ministry of Labor and VISA from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are essentially required. The competent officer will grant an approval to cover the specified service period. Once the service period ends, the employee has to submit an application to extend his employment period. The costs and burdens are incurred from certification of over 100 pages of supporting documents by the director who signs to certify true copies and also the service fees when an application is filed each time.
Such costs and burdens may be relieved if the employer is a company promoted by the Board of Investment of Thailand. we do not believe that YRT will have the same benefits as promoted companies.
