Mom had not finished her lecture when a door bell rang. Lek ran out to open the gate.
“Aunt Joy is here!”
Aunt Joy walked into the house, dressed very elegantly.
“You two are really absent-minded,” said Joy.
“Didn’t you remember that you promised to go with me to the Women’s Association’s meeting?
To help organize a fund-raising party called The night the flower bloom’. Did you foeget?”
“But the meeting is on Sunday, isn’t it?” asked Mom very perplexed.
“That’s right. Today is Sunday, isn’t it? Or is it Saturday?”
“Today is Saturday,” insisted Kaew.
“Oh boy! So I came in vain. Whatever! We all had better go out and eat something delicious then. It’s my treat, celebrating my absent-mindedness.”
Cheers to a forgetful person like Aunt Joy!
