tolerate and survive changing estuarine conditions. These fish species are presently exposed to fluctuating salinity, temperature and CO2 in estuaries, and therefore may have the adaptive capacity to cope with changing conditions. Whether estuarine residents and marine migrants are better able to tolerate changing climate than are freshwater or marine species remains to be seen, and may depend on how environmental conditions in estuaries change.
