Canavan et al. [21] reported significant kinetic relationship
between Olympic lifts and vertical jump performance.
In the present study, 1RMLP increased significantly in both groups. It is likely that the improvements
observed in lower-body strength contributed to the improvements
in both jumping and sprinting performance
observed in the present study. Several studies have indicated
the importance of plyometric training for improving
vertical jump and sprint performance [2, 3, 6, 28]
