the opening in Dili on 7 December 2005, the Archives & Museum of East Timorese Resistance represented the realization of a project of great importance for preserving the memory of the heroic struggle of the East Timorese people for their independence.
Housed in the former building of the Portuguese colonial court partially destroyed and burned during the September 1999 events, it is located in the center of Dili with the Government Palace and the National Parliament and flanked by the College and the University.
