In Creative Community Planning, we seek out the frontiers, borderlands and
margins to listen for who and what we are missing in our practices, whether
it is people with Aboriginal ancestry, nonhuman Nature, children and young
people or the plants and soils of a polluted waterfront. Other times we may
be the voices from a kind of borderland ourselves. All of our stories are contextualized
within local territories; in this book, most of our stories are from
the margins of ‘locals’ or communities we inhabit in Australia and western
Canada.
