3.2. Optimization of callus regeneration medium
When IE-derived calli were subcultured on regeneration medium,
they turned into green tissue within one week (Fig. 1d). Notably,
calli on regeneration medium with plant growth regulators developed
more effectively than on media without growth regulators. For example,
SA281 calli on B1I1C1 produced maximum number of shoots
(72.6 per IE) (Fig. 1e and f). In contrast, calli on MSC1 produced the
least number of shoots (20.9 per IE) (Table 3). Moreover, BA and IAA
together were better than BA alone for callus regenerability when the
medium B1I1C1 (72.6 per IE) was compared with B2C1 (56.3 per IE).
