Inventory-related adjustment and allowances
• Capture adjustment information (inventory owned by others)
• Resolve discrepancies (suspense)
At the end of each month chief accountant of Inventory Controller will compare between GL and inventory module. If found the difference, have to resolve by accountant - inventory section. If the difference occurs from the physical count, there's no adjustment occur.
• Capture adjustment information on price (vendor discounts, rebates and allowances)
• Calculate and record inventory allowances
• Record adjustments (inventory owned by others)
• Process adjustments
The processes of adjustment for the quantity which doesn't agree with purchase order are done by the Control department. Before any change in the system, the IT staffs have to get the order for changing from the management of Inventory Administration Department first.
For the difference between the stock report and physical count, there's no adjustment process as the company will force the staffs to compensate and those matters will be recorded as sales. If the value of the goods is very high and staffs can't compensate, they have to inform the managing director of the company in order to negotiate the amount.
