The chromatographic analysis performed on Waters Alliance
2695 system, with some slight modifications, was based on ISO
method for AFM 1 analysis (ISO, 2007). It used a reverse-phase
analytical column (C18, 150 mm, 4.6 mm I.D., 5 m m particles), set
at ambient temperature. The analyte elution through the column
was isocratic with a water/acetonitrile mixture (75/25 v/v), at a
flow rate of 1 mL/min. After injection of 100 m L sample extract into
the chromatographic system, the AFM 1 determination was per-
formed at 365 and 435 nm, for excitation and emission,
respectively.
