3.1.3 Effect of desorption solvent
The selection of an appropriate desorption solvent is critical for the optimization of the MSPE process. Organic solvents are known to be effective for the desorption of organic analytes from sorbents. Five desorption solvents were tested in this study, including methanol, ethanol, acetonitrile, acetone, and isopropyl alcohol. The results in Fig. 2 indicate that all of these solvents are able to desorb target compounds from the sorbents, although acetone is more effective. Thus, acetone was ultimately selected as the desorption solvent.
