The effect of catechin concentrations
in each fraction and/or the different catechin compositions
of the fractions could explain the different antimicrobial
activities of C. nucifera fractions against S. aureus. The
results displayed in Table 1 suggest that catechins and the Btype
procyanidins present in higher concentration in fraction
II were responsible for the antimicrobial activity against
S. aureus, demonstrating a higher inhibitory effect for
S. aureus
