The South (Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Mui Ne) is typically hot all year round with two main seasons: rainy and dry. It is also the most predictable region in terms of weather. Summer months from May to August are the busiest when it comes to tourists, making travel difficult at times, not to mention the occasional downpours!

The North (Hanoi, Halong Bay) is relatively monsoonal with hot and rainy season from April to September and cool dry season from October to March. October and November are the best months to visit to avoid the tourist crowds and take advantage of more comfortable humidity and temperatures.

Central (Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An) Vietnam is home to the hot Southwest wind which makes outdoor exercise a very strenuous activity indeed. The cool ocean breeze takes the bite out of winds, providing some much welcome respite. Central Vietnam has definitely seen its fair share of hurricanes and flooding however this is also where Vietnam’s most stunning beaches can be found.
