Crushing to this size allows the ore to freely discharge from the rail cars at the Southern Operations
plant site three kilometers to the south.
From June 2007 through June 2008, ore production from the North mine averaged 8,500 tonnes per
month. Major underground equipment units included one drift jumbo for development, one Atlas
Copco L6C/M7C production drill, and sufficient loading units and underground trucks. The North
Mine was put into care and maintenance in August 2008.
A small amount of ore was mined from the Potosi underground mine in the last fiscal year – an
average of 4,500 tonnes per month. The Potosi mine is also now under care and maintenance.
