• Please do not lead her around by the hand
any more than you would her sighted peers. Our
goal is for her to be as independent as possible.
• If she drops something, encourage her to
search for it (verbal prompts are O.K., if
needed). Try to use directional words (to your
left, in front of your right knee, etc.) instead of
pointing and saying “over here” or “that way.”
