UTILIZATION of PV power system is growing because
of the limited stock and rising prices of conventional
sources (such as, coal, petroleum, etc.). But, PV system has
limitations such as high installation cost, low energy
conversion efficiency and irregularity in power generation due
to dependency on environment. A lot of research-works are
going on in modeling and control aspects to improve the
efficiency and power quality of PV system. MPPT controller
controls the PV system to operate at its peak power point and
hence improves the power generation efficiency of the PV
system.
A number of MPPT techniques are proposed and
implemented so far [2-3]. From the literature [4-7], it is found
that perturb and observe (P&O) [4-5] and incremental
conductance [6-7] techniques are widely used because of their
ease in practical applications and independence of PV system
dynamics in their MPPT algorithms. P&O and incremental
