Twelve serotypes were identified in humans and either chicken
meat or eggs (or both chicken and eggs asS.Infantis was); 47.9% (45/
94) of human cases were infected with one of these 12 serotypes that
was also isolated from chicken or eggs. Of the 45 cases with a serotype
also isolated in chicken or eggs, 28 (62.2%) indicated they ate chicken
if it was a chicken associated serotype, eggs if it was an egg associated
serotype and chicken or eggs if it was a chicken and egg associated
