Dear Parents,
As we are starting to have cooler temperatures, we will see an increase in colds and the Flu and its associated symptoms.
Illnesses like colds and flu are spread from person to person via respiratory droplets. These droplets are spread by coughing, sneezing or by touching objects or people with contaminated hands. We know that some viruses and bacteria can live two hours or longer on surfaces such as tables and doorknobs.
(The signs and symptoms of Flu are outlined on the attached hand out.)
As a precautionary measure, the school nurse and teacher will be doing regular checks in the Primary school for signs and symptoms of Flu (such as high fever)and parents will be contacted if children need be seen by a doctor or taken home. In the meantime we will continue to reinforce good hygiene with regular hand washing for students and additional cleaning measures for the teaching environments.
If your child is showing symptoms of the Flu, we suggest you keep your child home from school and consult your family doctor or visit a local hospital.
We thank you for your ongoing support.
Regards,
Ratchanee Somboon
