The most prevalent serovar among the chicken
carcasses naturally contaminated with Salmonella spp.
was Schwarzengrund, followed by Montevideo. These
results differ from those observed by Schlosser et al.
(2000), who reported S. Heidelberg, S. Kentucky,
S. Hadar, and S. typhimurium as the most frequent
serovars in chicken carcasses.
