The benefit of airlines cutting costs is saving money. This risks associated with cutting costs is reducing the quality of the traveling experience and not meeting customers’ expectations or needs. For example, on one American Airlines flight, a customer complained that although there was food available to be purchased, the quantity of food was depleted before the flight crew could attend the entire cabin. Cutting costs do result in least costly ticket prices. Unfortunately there is a trend in the industry to charge “hidden fees” to substitute for the original lower ticket prices.
