The production of technical complex hollow parts made of silicone rubber in injection moulding, extrusion or
other common processes involves a high manual, technological and financial effort and only allows limited part
geometries. To take the advantages of the automated extrusion blow moulding process for the production of
geometrically complex hollow parts made of solid silicone rubbers, current research activities at IKV focus on the
material characterisation and analysis of the material for the processing in extrusion blow moulding. The blow
moulding process requires a certain fluidity but at the same time a sufficient extensional viscosity of the material
