In some of these strategies, most of the reading responsibility lies with the teacher as she or he models to the children how and why reading is done. Modelling entails demonstrating to children how to read, and usually includes a degree of thinking aloud about how to make reading decisions while reading a text. Thinking aloud should enable,as far as possible, children to see inside a proficient reader’s head as they read so that internal congnitive processes can be observed.
