The Day of Our National Language
On 29 July 1962 His Majesty king bhumibol adulyadej attended a conference discussing problem in the use of thai language. He demonstrated a deep knowleage of the subject and voice the need to maintain and care for the national language. This date was subsequently set as Thai language Day. Since then every year on 29 July,the government organizes a number of language-related activities, especially in schools.
