Middle layer (Dermis)
• (95% of skin) Tucked between the epidermis and hypodermis
• Holds all the blood vessels, nerves, hair follicles, collagen,
sebaceous glands and sweat glands
• The hub of all operations in the skin
• The blood vessels supply nutrients to the skin, nerves giving
sense of touch, and tiny muscle fibers controlling raising and
lowering of hairs, goose bumps
• Responsible for dealing with bacteria capable of travelling
through the epidermis
