Apparatus
The apparatus was identical to that in Experiment 1 except that a motor was attached to the backside
of the shaft behind the panel. Participants did not tilt the glasses manually but rather adjusted the
tilting angle by operating a remote control. Pressing the left button on this remote control caused a
turning movement at a speed of 12 angular degrees per second in a counterclockwise direction, and
pressing the right button caused a turning movement in clockwise direction. On releasing either button,
the movement would stop instantaneously.
