This is the best “All About That Bass” cover I could have imagined.
Brilliant. But I bet at times teachers and parents probably told her she was crazy to want to sing “with that voice” and “who the hell makes a decent living playing upright bass?!?”. Or they encouraged her to go and live her dreams. Tricky one. I suspect the second, because this woman can sing and play the hell out of that upright bass.
Regardless, this is one is a series of fantastic covers of popular songs done by Postmodern Jukebox in a ‘40’s jazz style, doo wop and so very much more.
Why do I love them so?
Because it’s the best thing ever, and they would be doing all of this late at night in practice rooms even if there were no internets or audience of kind.
Music majors (or people who can play because they just kind of picked it up — which is the most impressive way overall) who have big dreams can now get over 2.5 million likes on YouTube just for this song alone. After all of those years of practice they should have a chance to let their little light suddenly burst into a giant spotlight.
How lucky are we?
