REDEFINING TRANSPARENCY
Throughout the initial phase in transparency research, a catalog of defini tions of transparency
were recorded. A series of terms were distilled from these definitions, and diagrams and
photographs of existing projects were used to illustrate the terms as used in writings about the
architecture of modernism and about projects after modernism. Spatial and organizational
implications of these terms were explored through a series of study models. These models are to be
read as a series of threshold types that attempt to define a dynamic, conversant transparency.
