This study investigated the potential for resource recovery from
PGS via low-temperature thermal pretreatment and mesophilic
anaerobic fermentation. Releases of soluble chemical oxygen
demand (SCOD), VFAs, N and P from PGS and PFS were compared
and biogas production potential was evaluated. Furthermore,
microbial community structure during anaerobic fermentation
was investigated to understand the different behaviors of PGS
and PFS. The results of the present study will help to improve
the understanding of resource recovery from AGS.
