Soil organic matter increases generally soil structural stability irrespective of the origin of the stresses (KayandVandenBygaart,2002). Kirchhof et al. (2000) first measured the sinkage resistance that simulated themechanical resistance to manual transplantation of rice crop and found that itdecreased with increasing intensity. However, the effects of SOC concentration on sinkage resistance are rarely studied in the field.
