The striated microfilament bundles had electron dense
cross bands with a periodicity of approximately 200 nm, and
attached to the membrane with almost right angle (90◦) at the
cross band level (Figs. 1 and 3). At the terminal of the bundle,
the cross band seemed to bridge with the electron dense layer
just beneath the membrane (Fig. 3). In some cases, the bundles
were bent and branched (Fig. 2). No relation between the
bundle and centrioles was observed, as far as we could see.
Table 1 shows number and percentage of cytoplasmic
bridges without and with striated microfilament bundles in
spermatogonia, spermatocytes and spermatids populations,
on the basis of all the observable bridge in 10 different thin
sections.
