Lehigh Acres firefighters were busy Saturday putting out three fires in a short span of time.
"There are high-risk areas throughout Lee County, Hendry County, and Collier County, and Lehigh Acres is one of those areas," said Samantha Quinn with the Forest Service.
That was proven Saturday with those fires, which are considered suspicious - and Quinn said we can expect to see more.
"Anytime that we know it's not an actual cause or we know that there is no rain or lightning in the area then we automatically deem it suspicious and we try to find out exactly what that cause is."
Last week, a teen playing with a lighter started a 50-acre fire in Lehigh that destroyed a home.
Quinn said the Forest Service works to educate families about the risk of igniting anything near dead fields.
"We just try to promote as many common principles that we can get across the board like don't mess with matches and things like that in early age."
Quinn said it's more important than ever to create defensible space near your home, clear your property of dead brush, trim trees, and clean leaves and sticks out of your gutters.
Fire prevention is everyone's job, so we move forward with fire prevention being a common theme or thread in the neighborhood and in the communities we hope to make everyone's home safe."
Florida Forest Service offers mitigation services if you're concerned about your property. They'll review your property to see if there are any ways to reduce your risk of brush fires.
