“Are you going back to him?” Marc asked. “I can’t answer that right now. I need to clear my head” I said. He nodded and pressed a warm kiss on my forehead. “What about you?” I asked. “I got Thais pregnant” he sighed. “The baby is innocent Marc, don’t hate it because of her” I said. “You are right Olive” he said with a sad smile. “I’ll be here for you Marc, I’ll support you” I said. He smiled and nodded. I gave him a quick hug and got dressed. “Shall I order dinner?” Marc asked. “Maybe later, do you have wine? I need a glass or 5” I groaned. He chuckled and walked to the kitchen. He came back with a bottle of red wine and two glasses. Marc turned the TV on and we drank our glasses in silence, but it felt peaceful. The bottle was empty before we knew it so we opened a second bottle. We were tipsy soon and chuckled about the most random things. “Olive you are so cute” he giggled. “Not as cute as you” I laughed. “Come here baby” he said and embraced me. I snuggled against his chest. I needed comfort and it felt nice to be in his arms. He kissed my temple and we fell asleep in each other’s arms sometime later.
I woke up the next morning in Marc’s arms and my head pounded from all the wine last night. “Good morning” Marc said in a husky voice. “Morning” I smiled. He squinted his eyes and smiled back at me. “Can you please drive me home?” I asked. “Of course, but let’s brush and wash our faces first” he said.
We sat in Marc’s car half an hour later. “You should talk with Thais” I said. “I don’t want to see her right now. What she did to us is unforgivable” he said and clenched onto the steering wheel. “But she is carrying your child Marc” I said. “But I want to be with you” he whispered. “Marc” I started, but he interrupted me. “I know. I know that you love him. But he blackmailed you, they both ruined our lives. A part of my heart will always belong to you Olive and how big that part is, is still undecided” he said, softly.
