Prior to Di Matteo and Keller, Horst Heldt, Schalke’s General Manager, had decided to go for Huub Stevens; another safe choice. In fact, Schalke have pretty much done a Spurs of sorts in the last five years as they have appointed as many as seven managers. The biggest disappointment for the Schalke fans is that the club haven’t been able to hire a single manager who is as good as Rangnick in the last four years.
