Three take-back rates: 30, 50, and 70% are presumed to demonstrate the dynamic of the reverse logistics system. Treatment of printed circuit boards is assumed to take place only at the Gia-long plant since it is the only plant for scrap computer disassembly and recycling in northern Taiwan. The storage sites for major appliances are different from the storage sites for computers because they are not supervised by the same fund. In addition to the three scenarios that assume three distinct take back rates without sharing storage sites, another three scenarios are simulated assuming that electrical appliances and computers can share storage sites in the future. Table 4 depicts the condition of the six scenarios in this study. We also assume that all 17 storage sites are the potential sites for future recycling plants for scrap appliances, while half of the sites, viz. eight, are selected as the potential storage sites for scrap computers in the model solution.
