With the exception of the 1990–1994 time frame, when the
Journal of World Business published only 12 IHRM-related articles,
and none on ‘‘Management Practices,’’ that topic remained
consistently popular through the years. The percentage of articles
on it ranged from 15.8 percent in 1970–1974, to 50.5 percent in
2010–2014. It is a broad category, with the majority of articles
addressing four topics: comparative management practices,
leadership, the management of expatriates, and more recently,
talent management. Other topics in this category that appeared
with less frequency included managing people in the global
enterprise, management decision-making, project management,
and crisis management.
