The fermentation samples were analyzed by high performance
liquid chromatography (HPLC) system of Waters. The column used
was Waters sugar pak 6.5 300 mm. The mobile phase used was
milli-Q water with 100 lM EDTA and 200 lM CaCl2. The flow rate
was maintained at 0.4 ml per minute and column temperature was
maintained at 70 C. The sugar and sugar alcohol were detected
with the help of Waters 2410 refractive index detector.
