Runners participating in the Dublin Marathon run a largely flat, scenic course through Dublin’s City Centre. Carl Ewald, race director for Philadelphia’s ODDyssey Half Marathon,
chose Dublin as his first full marathon because of the scenery and the people. “The people were amazing and they came out in force and cheered like crazy,” he says.
“It was a really encouraging environment.” The Irish climate provides cool temperatures -- 53 to 59 degrees Fahrenheit -- for the October event, which has been run since 1980.
