Set up Destination for Backup
Before backing up to a LinkStation, you must configure a folder on the T LinkStation as a backup destination.
Step 1. In the Web Admin interface, click [Shared Folders] - [Folder Setup].
Step 2. Choose the folder you want to set as a backup destination.
Step 3. Check [Disk Backup] from [Shared Folder Support].
Optional: To configure a password for backup jobs to this share, enter it in
the [Remote backup password] field. If you do not want to set a password, do not enter anything.
Step 4. Click [Save] at the bottom of the screen.



Backing up to another LinkStation on the local network
If the target LinkStation is configured with a password for backup, you can find it on the network by searching for the password.
Step 1. In the target LinkStation’s Web Admin interface, navigate to [System] – [Backup].
Step 2. Under [Search for Backup Destination by Password], click [Modify Settings].
Step 3. Enter a password and click [Save].
Now, you can easily find this target LinkStation when configuring backup jobs on a source LinkStation.



Backing up to a LinkStation on another network which is connected by a VPN
You can back up to a TeraStation on another network as long as the two networks are connected by a VPN. Follow the
procedure below to enter IP address of the target LinkStation.
Step 1. In the source LinkStation Web Admin interface, click [System] – [Backup] - [View NAS Devices].
Step 2. Under [Off Subnet LinkStation, enter the IP address of the target LinkStation in the [New IP Address] field, and click [Add].
