Thereafter we see a decline. with some fluctuations, with current consumption at around 130 litres of beer per Czech Republic inhabitant per year. This level of beer consumption amounts to the greatest share of alcohol consumption (4.4-5.1 litres). We can regard causes underlying the decline in consumption since 2005 to be primarily the changing lifestyle of the population over the long term, as well as the transient rise in excise tax on beer form 1 January 2010 and the continually rising beer prices.
