4.2. DATA ANALYSIS
According to information gathered from interviews and literature survey, the flow chart of the service process was created. This flowchart is focused on the journey of the patient who enters the hospital either by being referred from the GP or coming through the A&E department and need to receive an operation. It is illustrated in figure 4.2.
Moreover, based on both sources of information, there are some common scheduling related problems that healthcare service providers have been facing. The problems and suggested solutions are categorised, according to the cause of the
problems, into five categories, as explained as follow.
