Determinant of getting worse at self-care management
With the exception of education and etiology of HF, there were no unadjusted differences in socio-demographic and clinical characteristic between the two trajectories of self-care management (Table 1). Significant adjusted determinants of fitting the HF self-care management getting worse trajectory are presented in Table 2 (Model χ2 = 25.5, p=0.001; pseudo R2 = 16.5%). Patients with greater physical symptoms at enrollment, larger left ventricles, and ischemic HF were more likely to have the declining trajectory of self-care management. In contrast, greater depression was associated with a decrease in the odds of having a decline in self-care management.
