Fig. 1 shows the X-ray diffractogram of an as sintered BPOp/Al
composite. It is obvious that three phases exist: aluminum, BPOp
and Pb. According to this result, we can deduce that Pb was produced
from the reaction between Al and BPOp during the process.
The apparent grain size of Al and Pb was calculated using the
Scherrer equation. In determining the grain size of Pb, the effect
of internal stress on the line broadening was neglected. The average
grain size of Al and Pb were 33.5 nm and 25.5 nm, respectively,
from the half-maximum width of the Pb (111), (200), and Al (111)
diffraction peaks.
