2.6. Preparation of aqueous sample extracts for determination
antioxidant capacity
Extracts were prepared according to the literature procedure
described by Capanoglu, Beekwilder, Boyacıoglu, Hall, and Vos
(2008). 3 ml of 75% methanol was added to sample (0.5–1 g) and
sonicated for 15 min. After centrifugation at 2500 rpm for
10 min, the supernatant was collected, 75% methanol (3 ml) was
added to the pellet, and the extraction procedure was repeated.
Both supernatants were combined and adjusted to a final volume
of 10 ml.
