The instrument employed in this study is a statistical reasoning test with five questions that
comprised of 16 items of descriptive statistics. The purpose of this test was to examine students’ statistical reasoning ability in descriptive statistics. The topics that were covered in this test were average, weighted mean, measure of central tendency, and standard deviation. In the first section of each question, students were required to interpret the data and link one concept to another and apply their knowledge.
