Table 2 reports the travel behaviors. Almost half of the respondents traveled
for conferences during summer (48%), followed by all year (37.6%). The average
length of stay was 1 to 2 days (46.2%), followed by none (38.5%), and 2 to
3 days (10.4%). More than half (52%) reported that their conference expenses
were paid partially by their company/university and by themselves. About
66% did not have their family’s influence in making the trip decision. More
than one half took their family or guest on their conference trips; about 23%
would do that in the future.
