Provisional Health Advisories (i.e. guidance levels pertaining todrinking water), established by the U.S. Environmental ProtectionAgency (EPA), for PFOA and PFOS are 0.2 and 0.4 g L−1, respec-tively [9]. In order to enable a risk assessment associated withdietary exposure to PFAS, the European Food Safety Authority(EFSA) set tolerable daily intake (TDI) at 150 and 1500 ng (kg ofbody weight)−1day−1for PFOS and PFOA, respectively [10]. In 2009the Stockholm Convention classified PFAS as Persistent OrganicPollutants (POPs) [11] and nowadays they are also categorized asPersistent Bioaccumulative Toxic (PBT) chemicals or Toxic OrganicMicro Pollutants (TOMPs).
