Conditional type 2. Could happen but highly improbable / unlikely. However situations in the future can change, even when unlikely to happen.
The ‘If’ clause used past simple, while the secondary clause uses ‘would’ plus verb.
Examples:
a. If I had enough money I would buy a new car.
b. If he had the choice of where to live, he would choose Phuket.
c. If I won the lottery, I would live in Paris.
